Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Vinegar Hill Food Pantry is a hyper-local food pantry fighting food insecurity in our community.

VHFP provides weekly food distribution to approximately 150 neighbors with both fresh food and pantry items. It also stocks a little red library box daily, located outside the Vinegar Hill Community Garden.

During the COVID lockdown, Jennifer Macksoud, a local resident, realized that countless neighbors were struggling with food insecurity. She started filling her car with food to hand out weekly to help alleviate some of the pressure. Nearby residents noticed her efforts and joined with her to expand the organization. VHFP achieved official 501(c)3 status in November 2021 and now receives grants and donations that sustain its expanding endeavors.
